Other Half - Reality

Its 12.15pm, pulling the Aluminum frame glass door painted mild green I entered the Canteen’s first door following my Colleagues. To restrict sand storm it has two doors at entrance and another at other side of the corridor in-between to the canteen. As I went through corridor and pulling the canteen door, it was almost occupied, there were 5X6 tables with fixed chairs. I went passed the Arabian, European and Filipino counter to Indian counter. I tried to look in to the dishes on the vessel tray. It’s mutton. No I hate mutton, its fat and cholesterol.

Dinner recipes in the menu are good, when it is served in the canteen it is hard to eat it, it is neither spicy nor delicious. First thing that came to my mind is my weight, Iam limiting myself with diet to reduce, but it never seems to be. Diet? Ya… Nowadays I am avoiding dinner and taking fruits, One Apple a Day will be Doctor away. Seems good!

Picking fork and spoon, slowly looking at the items on the tray, I moved on then I decided to go for Sri Lankan curry, its beef curry. Previously, I had tasted Lankan dish, it was like one prepared by a person tried to cook a masala curry first time.

But here I am left with no more option other than beef, even I can’t apt veg menu b’cos it will even worst then Non-Veg recipes, tasteless. Either Veg or Non-Veg it has to be taken with pickles only.

Before moving to Beef, I saw the canteen in charge bringing chicken Kavab fry, Cool, I went with it. Holding the plate I turned around to locate the empty seat I saw our office tea boy taking a seat, next to few tables I saw my colleague, I kept the plate opposite to him and moved to take Kaboose and curd.

Kaboose is wheat product like chapathi, it can be said Arabian chapathi. This is one of diet recipe! Curd is one of my company’s product it is accessible at our convenience and to our requirement.

Once I sat before my plate with pickle bottle and started to eat Kaboose with curd, at far I saw a older person, he is wearing high visibility jacket and it was too dirty. He took to many Kaboose, came and sat opposite side nearby colleague. His position show he is waiting for something, may be his coworker I thought.

He is not our company staffs, as we are provided with more than basic needs and facilities to bring the hygiene from within. He is a Pakistani also, I am guessed from his turban and he should be working as mason or helper, b’cos most of the mason here are from Pakistan.

He didn’t have any plate, he kept the Kaboose over the table, No I felt he don’t have hygiene. I was looking, how he is going to have that Kaboose without curry or curd. He looked around and fixed his eye on the pickle bottle, and then he took that from my side. As our tea boy crossed our table, my eye went to this old Paki, I wonder how he is going to use it, he searched our table, and He saw my plate and notice spoon which I used to take pickle. He asked to give him the spoon in gesture, I show him the tray near the counter where he will get it. He refused my idea. He inclined the bottle as pickle came out and lay over the Kaboose, and started to consume it.

Few minutes later to move from our table. In middle, I saw him taking food from our Tea boy’s plate. He was taking it with a spoon. I am surprised to see him to do that.

Do people such a act in this country, is there any need to do such a act. This is really not good who are working in this country. This is the case of few Indians in some scale of profession also.

My taught went along with him, such people, Everyone is here to earn money, I have seen people working 10yrs, 15 yrs even 20yrs here, who avail leave 20 days twice a year some a month a year. Only few people are allowed to avail few months that’s on some rare circumstance only.

These people are really sacrificing their life for their family, some getting their life lost here. Thing is observed here is People who were racist and took this world towards the destruction of nature were ruling the most of the companies, some of the people from our country are brought here, exploited, unpaid, discriminated and few losing their life here, leaving their parents, wife, children’s. Worst case is that such person is being hatred by the people for whom he had lost his life when he returns back to his home.

Once I went to center of the capital city Batha, you will hate to visit this place again, b’cos it was like town hall road during Diwali, so nasty it seems as you find people from 5 countries.

I wonder when all these people are going to work in India itself without losing some moments of their life. This wasn’t case with China, then why it’s with India.
